Sonic Collective Colombian Guitar & Gaita with Niño Lento es Fuego WAV
Found Sound Nation presents this sample pack of Colombian guitar and gaita, played by composer and producer Niño Lento es Fuego. Warbling electric guitar with pulsating tremolo and slapback echoes and tender acoustic guitar are performed alongside Colombian gaita, an ancestral wooden flute descended from indigenous tribes. Recorded at Niño Lento’s New York home studio, the pack’s adventurous playing recalls traditional cumbia and Afro-funk.
Camilo Rodriguez (a.k.a. Niño Lento es Fuego) is a Colombian-born, Manhattan-based multi-instrumentalist that has performed alongside latin psychedelic outfits Combo Chimbita, M.A.K.U Soundsystem, and others in New York City’s Colombian diaspora. Recently, Camilo released a collaborative album with Grammy-nominated producer Shahzad Ismaily (Marc Ribot, Yoko Ono, Arooj Aftab) on Brooklyn’s Figure and Ground Records.
