Splice Sessions Sounds of Anguilla WAV
Anguilla is a beautiful land with a rich history on the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean. Its textured past includes control by the Dutch, Spanish, French, and English. This Splice Sessions pack is a collection of found-sound recordings from several locations on the island of Anguilla. The team captured the sounds of the native creatures and plants, which range from land reptiles, sea turtles, lobsters, and goats to many bird species, along with small trees, low scrub, and sea grapes. We also recorded sounds in historical locations and some abandoned buildings that were destroyed in Hurricane Irma. Some of the most well-known places we recorded the ambient sounds in were the Wallblake House, Shoal Bay, Rendezvous Bay, and Sandy Ground. We’ve provided the raw sounds and also processed and programmed them into some loops in the style of Soca, one of the many favorite styles of the island.
